The Indians of the province of Ontario are to have a journal devoted to their in- tereats, to be published by Dr. P. E. Jones (Kah-kew a quo-na by), secretary to the Grand Council. Many of the Ontario Indians are able to read, while quite a few of them possess a superior education, and the new journal should have a fair field of usefulness. Itisto be called The Indian.

The injection of a solu ion of salt and water into an artery when the heart was beating so low that the bleeding points could not be seen, saved a woman’s life ina New York hospital. She had _ been wounded by a pistol shot, and was about expiring as the result of a second attack of hemorrhage, all ordinary remedies had failed and the dew of dissolution was on her forehead, when the injection was re- sorted to.
