In saying this we do not overlook the fict that the first Conserva- tive Government after Confederation and the Mackenzie Government included some very able men. The people of Canada
may rest assured that the men whom Premier Laurier has called around h m will give this Canada of ours a faithful, honest, clean and eff- cient administration of public affairs, and will devote themselves so earnestly
and patriotically to the promotion of tie public weal that they will win the unstint- ed confidence and admiration of their polit- ical opponents.”
