Further expansion in services provided by the Island Telephone Company. Ltd.. were outlined in the annual report of the board of directors which was submitted to the shareholders at a meeting this week in the Charlottetown Hotel.

In his report. submitted by presi- dent A. M. MacKay. it was stated that a new carrier system will be installed to provide additional cir- cuits between Charlottetown and Murray River.

Two additional radio links. one Moncton-Summerside and the other Charlottetown-New Glasgow. will be installed to replace cir- cuits to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia which will be lost when the submarine cables are vacated. and also to provide for additional re- quirements. An 8-channel carrier terminal will be installed at Char- lottetown to accommodate the New Brunswick circuits. and an exist- ing carrier at Summe side will be rerouted over the new radio link New Glasgow-Charlottetown. I

Mr. Scales also extended his thanks to the ladies organizations that give valuable assistance to the hospital and concluded his report expressing his gratitude to several faithful employees who have been at Prince County Hos- pital for about five years.

On motion of Dr. J. C. Simpson a unanimous vote of thanks was extended Mr. Scales and his as- sociates for their wonderful ser- vice to the hospital.

In answer to Mr. Sc.ales' earlier suggestion. for balancing operat- ing revenue and expenses Mr. J. Frank Arnett. said he felt that rates could not be increased at this time as he believed such a move would lose patients to other hospitals. Mr. Arnett also expressed keen d1ssppo' t that the meeting had no repre- sentation from communities throughout the county. The new administrator. Mr. Ledgerwood. also addressed the gathering briefly.

Mr. Alex Horne reported for the building committee, in which he gave a very comprehensive run down of the year's activities.
