The fading time of the year had once again succeeded to the balmy days of summer: the trees had reached their final tone of colour and the leaves had fallen to crumble in the dusk-this autumn wisdom speaks eloquently of the short span of mortal life, when the soul of man must return to Him who created it. This was very sadly exemplified, when on Nov. 10, 1935, Mr. Alexander LeClair departed this life at the comparatively early age of 55 years, for that bournc from which no traveller returns. This short season on earth has brought him to an eternal day. '

Higgins, secretary of thg Charlottetown Board of Trade, and interviewed potato and fish exporters, He leaves for Halifax this morning where he will com- plete his nation-wide tour. Since coming to Canada in the early autumn he has visited all the im- portant centres in each of the nine provinces.

Two new members, Mrs. Law- rence K-zlly and Mrs. J. M. Hynes, were introduced.

Military honors were accorded Trueman J. Morris. Canadian world War veteran. who was burned to death at Newburyport, Mass. in an attempt to save his infant daugh- ter, during a fire at his home in that city recently. '

Born in Prince Edward Island 41 years ago, Mr. Morris enlisted as a

private in the Canadian selge bat-

tery and served until i919 when he was honorably discharged as a ser- geant. I-Ie was in the famous. Prin- cess Pat regiment and received both the British war medal and the Victory modal. ‘

Mrs. Annie Sophia (Rogers) Wal- ker, wife of John Stafford Walker, passed away at the Cooperstown Hospital Sunday evening, December 15th inst at 92-15 o'clock, after an illness of some weeks of heart trouble with complications. Mrs. Walker had been in failing health for some time. and two Weeks ago she was taken to the Cooperstown Hospital for treatment. Her daugh- ter, Miss Florence Walker. Register- ed Nurse, employed at Cornell Med- ical Ccntrc, New York City. came . home and cared for her mother during her illnes, both at home and at the hospital. Her entire family was at her bedside at the time of her death. Her son, John D. Wal- ker. Senior at Ohio State Univcr- sity. Columbus, Ohio. came home when hcr condition became serious.

She is survived by a son-owing husband. and two daughters, (Lou- isci, Mrs. Benjamin I. Ellis and Miss Florence Walker. RN. and one son. John David Walker, all of Sydney. and one granddaughter. slu- is also survived by three sisters. (Belle) ~ Mrs. L. W. Fowler and (Mattie) Mrs. H. W. Burch of Cal- gary, Alberta, Canada; and (Bessie) Mrs. S. R. Cairns, of Freetown. Prince Edward Island, and two brothers, Plcton Rogers of Rossland, British Columbia, and Henry L.
