their job is to report to their faculties, and report to the executive they must start doing so or they are a redundant part of the Union. Whether I am elected or not I would like to see the executive hold these reps accountable in some

fashion whether it be a column, a monthly meeting, or a notice etc.

President Amber Allin 1) -- I love UPEI, and take pride in it. — Challenging, an opportunity to do something! 2) -- Toimprove representation to the student body; eg.

incorporate house councils. ,

— Improve the everyday life of the UPEI student, and find out what the student wants from their SU.

— Lobby Provincial/Federal Gevernment using the collective —power of the Atlantic Region. 4) Crucial! A must in order to ensure Post Secondary Education is accessible to the majority of Canadians. Block funding brings with it a public relations war with other essential services, therefore we must use the collective power of the Atlantic Region when at all possible. 6) Regular informal meetings with regular coverage by the X-Press and CIMN.

Kent Driscoll

1) In answer to why am I running, it would be to provide an accessible Student Union that responds to the needs of real students. The other main reason that.1 am running is that it is a very difficult time for students. The new budget has sent the responsibility for education funding to a provincial basis, and I feel that massive lobbying on a provincial basis is needed, and] am_ relentless in lobbying.

2) The main objective is trying to protect student funding at a provincial level. This means meeting with as many provincial M.L.A.’s as I can get to see me. A further objective of mine will be to make the Student Union more accessible to students, and to this end I will make it mandatory for Vice-Presidents (and the President) to serve two of their office hours in the Pit at the information desk (council members will be responsible for one houra week). I will be writing a weekly column in the X-Press, telling students what exactly I am doing for them. Another major point I would like to accomplish is to boost school spirit here at U.P.E.I. ‘ 4) I think lobbying with the government 1s essential, especially with the new reality presented to us by the — budget. Surprisingly enough, the presidential candidates agreed on both questions. Both wanted to wear sweatshirts: Amber -- a UPEI sweatshirt in any colour but green, and Kent -- his red hooded sweatshirt. Both also wanted to be coffeemakers; Amber, because she is perky and ch ipper to the last drop. Kent wanted to be a coffee maker because “it would be so much more easy to have all that fresh coffee dripping into me, as opposed to my current system, which involves getting a mug and drinking it.”

Darcy Murphy, Finley Martin, Andrea Pushka and Kelly Yeo all want to be microwaves because they are fast and efficient.
