a iN * That's the cry from the village of Morell, the home of the New Brunswick-Prince Edward Island bantams baseball \cham- Last Saturday on their home diamond, the King’s County youngsters walloped Moncton bantams 11-5 to win the N.B.-P.E.I. crown two games to one and earn themselves a chance at the three-province title. °

THE ISLAND REPRESENTATIVES looked sharp as they

downed the New Brunswickers with plenty to spare. They fought back after the visitors rallied for four runs and once they start- ed their comeback there was no doubt about the eventual out- come.

Right now the boys and their supporters are just itching for those games with the Nova Scotia lads. We understand they are just starting the finals in our sister province so it should be a few days before Morell boys know who their opponents will be.

HOWEVER, they are not very interested in the outcome of that Nova Scotia final. Any team is good enough for the Island bovs to conquer. That's the confidence: that is showing itself around the sports-minded village of Morell.

The local champions may have it much tougher than they had against Moncton but they are still optimistic about the re- sult. They feel they have a Maritime title within their grasp and they don’t intend to let it slip away.

So these Nova Scotians had better be really prepared. They will be facing just about the most determined bunch of bantams you can ‘imagine in the Morell lads. If the Maritime crown doesn’t rest in Morell after this series, it surely won't be from the lack of trying.

We have a strong feeling our Island titlists will go the full distance and bring Maritime honors to King’s, the most spor's- minded part of the Dominion of Canada. i

‘MONCTON got revenge in short order for that bantam defeat.

The very next afternoon their Juniors, champions of New Brunswick. crushed our Island top brass, Morell-Peakes, 15-1 to all but wrap up the N.B.-P.E.I. junior series.

There wasn’t much to cheer about Sunday as the main- landers overpowered our Island boys .in that series opener. The result left Moncton top favourite to dispose of Morell-Peakes in

_two straight games.

Tt was just a case of a good little team against a classy big “team. Moncton presented one of the finest junior clubs to. come out of the province of New Brunswick in many @ year. They showed terrific power in their bats, their lefthander Wayne Jones displayed lads of stuff and their fielding ieft little to be desired.

\-MORELL-PEAKES, on the other hand, were below par for this one. We are not suggesting that they would, at their best, conquer Moncton. Such a thought is the farthest thing from our mind. We_are merely suggesting that the local champions are not 14 runs worse than the New Brunswickers.
