We would advise those farmers who .tisli to raise a good crop of wheat—and who does not ?—to at once secure some of that excellent Canada Susi) Wits/tr, advertized in our paper, for sale at the Stores of David Rogers and Lemuel Vickerson, 195115., and at the Mills of Messrs. Jesse Wright 6; Son,in Iicdcquc. “'0 have it from these gentlemen, and others'who have t sttd its quality, that it is II superior seed, anti is warranted to be Spring Seed Wheat. We hear that it has been reported by some evil-disposed party in the 'country that the Wheat on sale by these gentlemen is not Spring Seed \Vlicnt. \Vo contradict this false accusation, on the word of Mr. Wright. The wheat crop in this Island has for the past few years been a great failtirc,whilc at the same time it has been on the in- crease in Canada. We do not pretend to say exactly what the cause may have been, but we doubt not that a good deal of the failure is owing to the bad seed sown. Change the seed this year, and see what results will tollow.

FIRE!

A fire broke out yesterday morning, about I0 o'clock, in the house occupied by Mr. George Harvey. on St. Stephen Street. The Fire Company uith the Fire Engine were soon on the s ot. A good supply of water, principally from the river, was kept in the Engi. c. and by the exertions of the Company and the large number of people who had assem- bledf'the tire was confined to the one house, and completely extinguished; not.

however, until the house in which it. ibroke out had been pretty well destroyed inside. The wind at the time was blow- ing very strong from the north, and the house on fire being in the centre of ii cluster of buildings, almost adjoining Mr. I‘Libbet'l Ilotel, it was thought at first there would be a big fire; but thanks to a kind Providence and the noble exer- tions ‘of the inhabitants. who worked well, we have been saved such a dire calamity. We must add that the Fire Engine wasin good order. The origin oftlia fire is not exactly known. but is .Mild to have originated from a stove pipe. \Ve understand the house was insured.
