Winnipeg journals advocate the estab- lishmen of pioneer colonies in the Peace river district. Dunvegan is suggested as a suitable location for the first colony. Professor Macoun speaks of the land as being of extraordinary fertility, the cli- mate is mild, there is an absence of muskegs, plenty of fish and game, and wood within easy distance, and a navig— able river. The mining district of Omi- neca, in British Columbia, is oply one hundred and fifty miles distantand easily accessible, affording another market for produce at good prices. The agricultural capabilities of the Peace river district are not excelled by avy other section in the Northwest.
