Now in the Smiling Pool was a house that reminded Paddy of histown. Of course it was mini- ler, very. very much smaller and it was made mosuy ol rushes instead of logs and sticks. But it was a house out in the water with a doorway under water at the bottom of the Smili Pool like his own. it was Jerry Musknat's house. Paddy and Jerry. in a general way. look so much alike except- log for size that some folks think they are cousins. They are not. They may look something alike and in their habits they may be much alike. but they are not cousins. Jerry is a mem- ber of the Rat family. He is a cousin to Robber the Brown Rat and other members of the Rat family. Paddy the Beaver isn't a Eat at all. I am sure he would not like it at all for people to think he was a cousin to Rob- ber the Rat.
