Last Poet Bounded

The Last Post was then sounded, and the hymn "O God Our Help in Ages Past." was sung. After this came the Chaplains address, the placing of wreaths, “Reveille? the singing of "O Canada," and "The King."

Simple in its dignity and ap- propriateness to the occasion, the service left a deep impression upon all present.

Headed by the Legion Band, the war veterans then proceeded along Grafton to Prince Street, thence by way of Richmond, Queen and Grafton Streets to the Legion rooms, where they dispersed. They were marshailed during the parade by Major W. J. MacDonald, pres- ident of the Charlottetown Branch of the Legion.

The Boy Scouts were marshalled by Mr. W. Warren, and made a very creditable appearance.

things that we do this morning bring vivid sense of our obligations. While the Great War crowned Canada with a diadem of undying glory, the part our men took in it laid fresh responsibilities upon us, its citizens. We cannot prevent the Canadian dollar from falling some- times below par in foreign mar- kets—but we can and must main- tain the Canadian spirit up to par at home and throughout the wnn! world, and be staunchly true to the ideals of high living and high thinking for which our men fought and died.

“And, finally, this may be snid. As we stand here today our hearts and hands reach out longlngly for peace. Let. us do more than long for peace, let us do more than even pray for peace. Let us live and work for peacé. Let us cultivate the tem- per oi’ peace, each in his and her own heart. In our religious. polit- ical, social and personal relations, let us put our foot firmly down upon all that is acrimorﬂous and unbrotherly; let us join hands where and when we can and we shall thus help to hasten the day when “like a rainbow, east athwart the sky, peace shall appear to all
