Volunteers wanted

The Queens County local of the P.E.I. Association for Community Living is searching for volunteers. P.E.l. Association for Community Living is a non- profit organization dedicated to providing services to people with a mental handicap within the community. Volunteers help provide a meaningful recreation experience for these people. “Volunteering has been very rewarding for me. | have worked witha variety of peopleand it has been a bright spot in my life. | recommend volunteering to anyone “ -Volunteer

Volunteers would work with an individual or a

small group to assist in implementing personalized ,

recreation plans. The Queens County Local provides support and training to all volunteers. Volunteering is a fun, enjoyable experience that brings both joy and fulfilment to your life.

Senior 4-H members

1994 is full of exciting opportunities. This year, 4- H members are given a chance to apply for one $390 and three $1000 scholarships. This financial assistance will be awarded to the 4-H’ers who meet the criteria. At a time when education is quickly becoming essential and the expenses for education are increasing, it is great to have offered this assistance.

THE CO-OPERATORS 4-H SCHOLARSHIP- $1000 -For a 4-h’er entering any year in a post secondary education at a university, college or other post- secondary educational institution. Application deadline: April 8, 1994

HARVEST TRUST 4-H SCHOLARSHIP FUND- $390

- For a 4-H’er entering any year in an agricultural degree program at a recognized university Application deadline: April 8, 1994

FARM CREDIT CORPORATION 4-H SCHOLARSHIP AWARD- $1000 -For a 4-H’er entering any year in a post-secondary education at a university, college or other post-secondary educational institution. Application deadline: April 8, 1994

There are MANY different awards available, but do not leave it until the last minute because deadlines vary. Also, any undergraduates in second or third year may want to start looking early for awards concerning your continuing education. Here are a some upcoming graduate awards:
