MONCTON (CP) — Schools superintendant H. H. Trimble says all major school systems in the province are faced with a possible high schqgol teacher shortage in the near future.

Mr. Trimble told a meeting of the local board of school trustees Wednesday that surveys will be made’ of the staff situation in Fredericton, Saint John and Mon- cton and submitted to the depart ment of education.

The high school population here was expected to increase by 40 per cent in the next five years and at least 24 additional teach ers excluding replacements for those retiring or leaving—would be needed in the same period.
