Trey Mer «a Ovrrtn.—The Hartford Covrant says : Leonard Searborn and: Jen- nie Maylord, of New Haven, were married last November, and on their wedding day, just as they were leaving the church, after the ceremony, they were confronted by a coffin containing the remains of a young man who had died of rheumatism. The bride turned pale, and, with many other persons, deemed it an omen of bad luck for herself and her husband. Searborn was stricken with rheumatism four weeks

after his marriage, and has been confined to his bed ever since. He is now so crip- pled and helpless that the doctors say he cannot recover. He and his wife attribute all their misfortune to meeting that corpse on their marriage day,
