The Pioneer says merchants inform us that business so far this spring has been fully up to the average. Tho’ farmers did not last fall take in as much money as they generally do, still the lack was very materially supplemented by the quantity of produce, as well as the large number of cattle and horses, shipped since opeting of navigation. Last Saturday people were along in considerable uum- bers and we believe mest of the store- keepers had as much as they could do ia the way of selling goods. We believe Summerside is going to have a pretty brisk trade for the next few weeks. With the large amount of money paid for produce and cattle we cannot under- stand how it can be otherwise.

The four figures required to complete the O'Connell monument, in Dublin, have been placed in position.
