I think that every- thing should be left in the open, and that no one should be able to use visual environments for personal gain. Graf’s a weapon in the sense that it tries to destroy all that-ugly shit. When all that shit is gone, graffitti should disappear too. The problem is that graf has been removed from its meaning and is used to sell t-shirts, sneakers, and pop. It’s a commodity and not a meaningful movement a lot of the time. Buying or controlling graffiti defeats it. I say screw paying peo- ple to paint! Up with guerilla tag-

One local MC and DJ, Tech Thai, when asked about the Charlottetown scene responded “at least there is a scene but it seems divided for such a small place. Most of the people that do work on music don’t do shows.”

Tech Thai also expressed the belief that more records and gear are needed here to support the Ds:

Hip-hop in Charlottetown is not at the level where many would like it to be at, but it is growing. There is also a lot of hope in the developments that have been made. If the culture here can evolve as it has in other parts of the world, then it will only prosper in the face of adversity.
