What's on at the Panther Lounge

Since we didn’t have a paper last week due to technical difficulties we have a lot of Barn news to catch up on.

The two Blue Rodeo concerts were sell-outs and everyone had a great time both nights. This response has made us decide to sign other big acts. So Thursday, February 18th (the last pub before the break) the Barn will be featuring Sue Medley. Tickets are only $7.00 advance and $10.00 at the door and for non-students. Tickets will go on sale Thursday, Feb 4 at the Labatt PEI Beer Launch which will go fast so don’t leave it till the last minute. It will be a great way to start the spring break.

Speaking of spring, the Student Union and the Barn have put together the first annual Springfest ’93. Springfest will run from Friday, March 12th to Thursday, March 18th. The lineup will be: Terry Kelly (12th), the return of the Amazing Santini (the hypnotist and comedian Mike Robinson, 15th),twoCIMN Pubson the 13th& 16th,and —; ' s the annual St. Patrick’s Day Pub on the 17th featuring Windjammer, a great Irish band from Fredericton, NB. Springfest will conclude on Thursday, March 18th with Mike O’Connor in the Lounge. We will be selling tickets for Springfest which will be good for every event (6 in total). These tickets will be on sale after the Break so if you have any projects or papers due that week we think you had better get them done now, so that you don’t miss the week-long party.

This week’s Movie Pub will feature the top two rental movies this month, Single White Female and Raising Cain. The time is also coming near for us to show Slapshot, so next week will be the Hansen brothers’ time to shine in the pub!

Friday, February 5, the residences on campus will be having their first Tri-House Party here at the Barn. We had one scheduled in December but unfortunately it was snowed out. This will be wet/dry so we’re expecting a big turn-out.

Saturday, February 6th, the English Society will be having Mike 0’Connor in the Lounge. They are expecting 80 to 100 delegates for their conference this weekend so come join in the fun on Saturday night. Well, we hope that’s enough news for this week. Catch ya down at the Barn!
