MONTREAL, March 20-(010- Early trading was extremely slow on the two Montreal livestock markets today and prices were steady to slightly easier. Receipts were. 352 cattle; 926 calves; eiglv sheep; 541 hogs.

There were no choice steers ol- fered. Good quality steers ranger; from 14.7.’: to 16 for an odd one; medium kinds; 13 to 14.50 and com

mon thin light steers down to i0 Heifers ranged from 8.50 to 15 ac

cording to weight and quality. Good quality cows were ll to 11m) medium kinds 9.50 to 10.50 and common 8 to 9.25. Cnnnérs and cutters made 5 to S. Common bulls told from 8.50 to 11.

Calves were slow and prices were 1 lower than at the close of lasl week, making r1 total loss or clos. to 6 from last Monday. Good qual tty veals brought l7 with a few choice at 18. The bulk of the calves were sold in mixed lots be tween 13 and l4 and these were of common to medium quality Drinkers sold as low as ll. Til- few grassers offered, 9 to l0. Sheep were steady at 5 to 9.50 according to weight and quality.

There was a weaker undertone to the hog market and by time 1! writing, there were no early sales made. Packers were binding 28.15 for grade A and salesmen were holdng for 29.

March Zird, of Mrs. Matilda Feellan age B4 years. The late Mrs. Feehzlirs death came as a shock to her wide circle of friends. Of a qlilct and unassuming disposition she was best known by those with, wrhcm she came in contact as a true Christian friend. There are left to mourn. two daughters (Prlscllll Mrs. James Atkins. Mt. Stewart; Bertha in California and A. D. Feehan, merchant, Mt. Stewart. The funeral was held rm Friday after- noon from the residence of her son to Si. Andrews church. All other growers ‘shall be required to supply proof oi the purchase of certified seed used for planting the potato crop.

Each grower dull exercise the necessary care in the planting, cultivation, spraying, dusting or harvesting of his potato crop to avoid any possible contamination with bacterial ring rot through machinery, harvesting containers, storage or second hand bags.

Failure to comply with any of these regulations shall remit upon summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $100 or in default of pay- ment to imprisonment for s. terns not exceeding thirty days or both.
