ey Memorial For Churchill

LONDON (AP)—Prime Min- ister Wilson has announced a Winston Churchill memoria! stone will soon be placed~:in Westminster Abbey, where Brit- ain immortalizes its great writ- ers, poets and other famous men. Wilson said’the stone will be unveiled by Queen Elizabeth ‘| at a service on Sept. 19 com- memorating the Second World War aerial Battle of Britain.

BRISTOL

A fine former resident of Bristol, Mrs. George Hume, died recently at 94. Mrs. Hume and daughter Grace, left here in 1918, a year after Mr. Hume had gone west to fulfill his dream of ranching in the state of Michigan.

A tailor by trade and Bristol postmaster for many years George Hume left here in 1917 and never returned. He died a few years ago.

Mrs. Hume sold their home here and resigned the post mis- tress job and joined her hus- band along with her daughters |

came back except for one trip. But in later years she dream- ed of coming home again but that dream never came true as | she died at their home jin Mus- kegon, after being a wheelchair | patient for many years.

A daughter Anne, Mrs. Keefe, resides ‘in Charlottetown, and | visited her mother and sisters | every year. She resided with her- two--daughters--Grace -and Alice who despite invitations to come home would their mother and they have not been back in almost 50 years.

The old home and tailor shop and office of Mr. and Mrs. Hume remains the same as the day they left here and their memory of this vicinity’s fin- est family in that long ago will Temain as long as any of the older class remain to recall the Hume family. ;
