The weather seems to have become settled, and a correspondent improvement in the pro- rcss of vegetation has taken place; we should, however, say, that there is atleast ten days’ difference between this season and the last in favor of the later. it is true that plants some- times grow with a rapidity that makes it im- material whether the seeds are sown a fortnight earlier or later. e ave, in fact, several times ex erienced, that seeds sown in the last week in lay, or in the first week in June, have produced plants that have perfected themselves quite as early as those sown ten da s or a fort- night earlier; but, as a general ru e, we coun- se

The Annual Church meeting of the congre- gation of St. Paul’s, Charlottetown, was held on Tuesday last, and we are glad to learn, that notwithstanding a much increased expenditure consequent upon the introduction of Gas light, the purchase of Pews and other heavy charges, the financial afliiirs of the church were found to be in a highly satisfactory state.
