Ar a meeting of the Board of Health, held last evening, the City Health Officer—Dr. Johnson—stated that there were no grounds for alarm on account of the prevalence of typhoid fever. Much of the fevers supposed to be typhoid are, he says, but the usual low fevers with some typhoid symptoms. He also says that there has been but one case of gen- ine typhoid fever this season, and in that case the patient dicd.

SAVANNAH, Ga., Sept. 21.

Another distinet earthquake shock was }expertenced this morning. Hundreds of

people were awakened and many were frightened badly, though there was no

general alarm. CHARLESTON, 8S. C., Sept. 21. Quite severe shocks of earthquake oc- curred here this morning. Houses were shaken, and in many instances the plaster was thrown down, No one was injured.

The Troubies in Spain.

Maprip, Sept. 21.

(Queen Christina returned to the city to- day. She was received with the greatest enthusiasm by the people. Large crowds attended the funerals of the victims of the revolt. All members of the Cabinet were present, and the Queen sent wreaths to be placed upon the coffins of a number of in- surgents.

Orzawa, Sept. 21. It is understood that a decision has been reached by the Cabinet that in cities and towns where the Scott Act is in fore, all fines for violation of the law shall go to such cities and towns for the purposes of the Act.
