— The Montreal Gazette makes a good point whev it remarks that “a fortaight ago the Yukon railway arrangement was deemed so important by the Government that the debate on the address in reply to the Governor-General’s speech was interrupted to give opportunity to introduce the bill. After the address talk was finish- ed the bill was made the one item of Government business to be dealt with, and ordered to be brought up day after day till it was approved of or rejected. Mr. Hardy’s fix inust be deemed a bad one when the Federal Government abandons for a whole week that which it has been holding of eo much importance, for no otherreason than that its members and suppsrters may have a better opportunity to take part in a provincial election con- test.
