The following Fire Prevention Week Statement has been issu- ed by Provincial Fire Marshal, Earle T. Mac-Lend.

_' Dominion Proclamation the week of October 4th to 10m, 1964. is designated l-‘IRE PRE~ VENTION WEEK, This Procla- mation made in the ttame of Queen Elizabeth of Canada. is an imperative reminder of the control of fire and its hazards. and appeals to all citizens to take proper precautions to curb the careless causes of fire.

Figures released tirouszh the the Fire Marshal's office through the Department of Public Works. show a total of 457 fires report- ed in the Province for 1963, with a property loss of $859,773.00.
