Through kindness of heart to relicsve others, be has been known to bave several times beggared himself. And when thus his large property bad well nigh passed from his hands, he hunself was never heard tu uttera complaint. But there are other traits in his character which are, perhaps, more worthy of mention. His love of God was pure .nd disinterested, and after God he loved his Church, the spouse of Christ. He manifested this virtue in very many ways, but especially in his geacrosity. Hews always ready with monty or tabor to assist in any work about the church, or in anything that would te.d to promote the interests of religion His many good works, bis self sacrificing spirit, bis readiness to answer auy call made on him may, indeed, fade from the mem- ory of man, but I know they will not be forgotten by Him who will reward even a cup of water given in His name. Taking into consideration his simple child-like faith, with his many other sterling qualities ot mind and heart, I would nct think him unworthy to joia the royal band who sur- mounted 80 many obsiacies, that they might see and adore the child Jesus in his crib at 3ethliehem. He has already seen Hm He has heard Him spexk, and the sweet music of that voice shall continue to be his joy for ever. May his sou! rest in peace.
