Mr. Haslam graduated as B. A, ia the year 1899, and in theology during the present year at Wyclifle Col- lege. takiug a first-class in every subject, He was crdzined by the Bishop of Huron, and undertook temporary charge of the pari-b of Owen Sound last summer. Mr. AHaslam’s inteution is to enter the foreign mission field atter bo bas ecquired some experience of home work.

This moraing, in the Firet Methodist Churcb Mary Allison Jost, eldest daugh - terofMr R K. Jost, was united in mar- riage to Frederick P. Newson third son of Mr. John Newson, by Rev. G. M. Young. A large congregation witnessed tbe ceremony.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore atravelliog tuit of green camel's hair cloth and applique trim- mings, with a green velvet toque trimmed w'th Jace. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses. The bridesmaid, Miss Bianche Smallwood, wore moOusseline de} soie with white satin ribbon over piak cham- brey, and carried a bouquet of pink roses. M:ss Bessie Jost, sister ot the bride end maid of honor, was attired in white. The bridegroom was sttended by his brother, Mr. Arthur Newson. The ushers were Mr. Wm. Brehaut aod Mr. John Collings,

The groom’s present to the, bride isa gold watch and chain, and to the brides- maid av antique oak secretaiy. The pre- sents to the bride from friends are many and beauuful. The choir of the church, of which the bride and groom were mem- bers, presented her with a piece of ceramic wae, painted by Miss Temple also of che choir. The gift of the Sunday School was a silver pucdiag disu.

Professor Watts was atthe organ, and played the wedding march from * Lohen« grin” asaprelude. The chor sang ‘* Tne Voice that Bresthed O’er Eden” as the bride advanced to the altar, ard ‘* How Welcome was the Call’ before the bene. diction, Mendelesohn’s wesding march concluded the service.

Tie pulpit was beautifally decorated with flowers aad greenery.

The bride snd groom, who left by the morning train on atrip to Boston and New York, have the best wishes of hosts of friends, a great many of whom were at the siat:on to cee them off,
