DEAR Sie :---It will be remembered that, in the summer of 1899, when the temperance people discovered that they had been deceived and humbugged by the present govern ment on the prohibition question that temperance organizations and religious bedies of eve ry denomina- won passed resolutions condemning the government in yery emphatic terms for the treachery practiced upon them. The Eastern Gem Lodge, 1. O. G. T., of North Lake, was among the number of temper ance societies which recorded its disapproval. It will be remembered that the columns of the Patnot (?) newspaper was thrown to anonymous writers who used them to insult and abuse the temperance [t will be remembered that
