THE YACHT RACE,

Owing to the press of Exhibition matter, we were unable to publish yesterday a full account of the yacht race which came off on Wednesday. The race was as inter- esting as the admirers of this sport pre- dicted. The flying start made as pretty @ picture as bas ever been seen on the har- bor. Ideal got over the line first closely followed by Almaand at a greater dis- tance by Patbfinder. Nanita crossed last. Idea) drew away very fast and at the Asylum buoy bad a gocd lead. Pathfinder and Nanita were sailing very close together and seemed to be gaining on the Alma. While rounding thismark Nanita grounded and lost fully a minute, but on the beat to windward she seemed todraw away from the others. Almaand Pathfinder lugged the south shore of the Hillsborough an! beat up inside of the tide, with honors fairly even. Ideal and Nanita oo round- the Aeylum buoy stood out into the tide, which was running in, but Ideal made poor work to. windward and soon stood across the river again. Nanita however held ber course and did not stand across on the starboard tack till she was opposite Victoria Park ; she was now well to wind

ward of the others, but had some difficul- ty rounding the barbor buoy. Pathfinder lid good work at this point and turned the buoy only # bundred yards behind Nanita, and this distance she quickly made up on the short run with free sheets. However, when both boats were hauled on the wind to make West River buoy, Nanita held her first, followed
