A summer institute. intended for all Interested in public affairs. and featuring distinguished rep- resentatives l'rom the High Com- missioners' office in Ottawa. and from the Department of External Affairs, will be held at the Uni- versity from August 11-13.

The Institute, under the direc- tion of Dr. D. D. G. Kerr. will have as chief speaker Edgar Mclnnis, a native of Prince Ed- ward Island. and President of the Canadian Institute of Inter- national Affairs. A former mem- ber of the History Department of the University of Toronto. Mr. Mclnnis is also a distinguished poet and author. having twice re- ceived the Governor-General's awards for his writings.

The institute will study "The Commonwealth Today." discuss- ing both the nature and the prob- iems of the Commonwealth itself. and the role of Canada as a Com- monwealth member.
