The tubercle bacillus could not be found in the sputum. There were a few rales iougli sounds -- fn one spot iii his chest.

I did not tliiiiik that, in the absence of the organisms. no real loss in weight, no striking Xray signs, the case should be cared tuberculosis, which meant sending the patient to a snniitorium for at least ii year. I thought that telling him he had “cons-umptlon" by sending hiin to the sunainrium might. so shock him that it would further undermine his health.

They have many prime hides to show for their eilorts and are sviiftly cutting down the number of chicken-house iniiraudcrs in this area. The hides bring a. good price on the fur markets.

Driving along the road they watch for signs of the animals. When one is spotted the driver wheels the car oil" the road. through the ditch and into the fields.

The driver has his hands full trying to get close to the coyote while picking out smooth spots on the prairie, dodging gopher holes and stones. along at 6O miles an hour.
