Masonic Sotresr.—The members of Victoria Lodge, A. F. & A. M., and their friends held a grand socialin their rooms last evening. The entertainment was presided over by J. W, Morrison, P. D. G. M., and consisted of songs, readings, recitations, etc., after which the substantials were presented and enjoyed by all present. Among those who honorea the soiree with their presence were Hon. John Yeo, G. M., Hon. T. H. Haviland, Mayor, several members of the Legislature, and prominent Masons from town and conn- try. Sim,——The faimers of Lots 48 and 35 are greatly pleased at the prospect of having, in a few days’ t me, the Dominion dredge at work at their wharf at Red Point. The work will, no doubt, be thoroughly done, and when completed will enable veasels of large tonnage to load produce with safety and despatch. The accommodation thus afforded to a large and populous section of the country, will be duly appreciated by the people. They will not forget that to the efforts of their faithful and talented repre- sentative in the the Local Legislature, the Hon. Donald Ferguson, they are mainly in; debted for this most important service. It would appear that Mr. Ferguson has more credit and influence with the powers that be at Ottawa, than the entire Grit contin- gent from this Province.
