Deak *ir,—Be pleased to give the follow- ing a place iu your valuable paper, and o! lige : — On the morning of Tuesday, the 7th inst, the barn and stabica of Mr. James Waddell, of Orepaud, Lot 29, were totally destroyed by fire. Unfortunately, at the time, there werein the stables six head of fine cattle,one horse and three hogs, all of which perished in the flames. The barn contained abeut 200 bushe s of oats, alarge quantity of hay end straw, together with harness, carts and other farming uten- ails, al! of which were consumed.

‘Mr. Waddell was a thrifty, hard-working mau, and is now under the pain ef seeing bis industry of years reduced to ashes. He was absent at the time. The cause of the fire is not properly known. Mr. Waddell has the sympathy of very many, and we trust he will bav> thcir assistance alse, in aiding him to bear the heavy léss whieh he has sustained. No insurance.

The hotels are crowded, isaregnuiar jam at meal time— the accommodation being quite imadequate to meet the requirements of the crowds who, from all quarters, repair to the city.
