Patty Wins Men's Tennis Crown At Wimbledon

WIMBLEDON. England, July 8 .. (AP) - Budge Patty. one-time lntemational playboy who says he's a. changed man, won the coveted men's singles title today in the all-England lawn tennis tournament. -

The tall, dark and has dsome Caliiornian deieated young, shy. blonde Frankie Sedgman o! Mel- bourne, Australia, 6-1, 8-10, 6-3, 3-3, in the Iinnl.

Nobody in the crowd of 20,000 that jammed the centre court arena was le1t with a single doubt IS to the better player.

Patty beat sedgman on service, was far superior on passing shots down the sidelines and was more than a match for him at the net- sedgman's strongest point.
