held during the year, Mr. Jones announced that 5,223 donors had registered to exceed last year’s recordereaking total of 4,957. There were 2,225 donors at the two series of clinics held in Char- lottetown during 1958 or 42.6 per cent of the total registeration for the province.

Mr. Jones said these ﬁgures compared most tavorably with those obtained in the other pro- vinces of Canada. He attributed this accomplishment to the out- standing co-operaltion received on all Sides from donors and work- ers.

PRESENTED TROPHY

Alfred Morrison, president of the Students’ Council of St. Dun- stan’s Uinxiversitydwhieh made such an excellent showing~was presented with the Corpuscle Trophy for having again won the competition between S.D.U. and P.W.C. Alfred then presented the Inter-Class S.D.U. Trophy to Jack MacDonald, president of the S.D.U. senior class for having had 100 per cent attendance of members at t h e December clinics.

The exhortartion just quoted was written at the victorious close 0 one of the hottest controversies in the church’s history, and in an Epistle which celebrates that vic- tory. And it is from a man who would accept no compromise on the issue in which this Epistle is the last word.

We all recognize the import- ance of peace in a community— particularly in a small commun- ity. Every ellfort open to citizens of goodwill should be talnen to maintain it.

NO matter how honestly we may differ on questions of public policy, personalities are sure to arise in the discussion and, with them, antagonism. A stand must be taken if the right, as we see it, is to prevail.
