The ﬁre broke out on Saturday the 26th of August, at J atnes’ Foundry, and in con- sequence ofa want of water and of bad management, the great devastation took place.

The origin of the tire is attributed to an incendiary, and a reward of £1000 is 01'- lered for the conviction of the incendiary.

SANDWICH ISLANDS..

The ship Wm. Gray, arrived at Bos- ton last Tuesday, having sailed front Oahu on the l9th April. The English still held possession of the Island, but news had reached there that.they would, at an early date, be surrendered to the native authorities.
