The Dominion Bureau of Statist- ice reported today that 130,538,000 pounds of fisheries products were landed during the month COmpgr. ed with 90,364,000 in February, 1948. The value this year was $2,- 340,000 as against $1,700,000 l2 months earlier.

On the Atlantic there were light- er catches of cod and sardines, but increased landings of haddock and. smelts. The herring catch on the Pacific was sharply increased.

Conclusion of the 1948-49 winter herring fishery in British Columbia showed $18,500,000 pounds were landed, the largest ever recorded for this fishery.
