The Navy opened up fast in the first period with Johnny Higson scoring the first goal of the game at the i150 mark when he pushed the puck behind Cudrnore on a rebound silt)! off his pads. The came was yirctty wide open for the next five 0r six minutes of play with Open breaks coming frequent on both sides, with the Wclshmen finally clicking at the seven minute Itnark to get the equalizer when Ready took a shot on net and Red Hoa-att poked it in off goalie Davis's stick.

It: was only about two minutes later. however. when the Navy went one coal up again with Perry combining with Hlgson, the lather getting his second goal of the night when Perry carried in over the blueline to pass the puck to htm close in on goal.
