I didnlt see much of the country- side but on farmhouses as on city rooftops were plenty of television sets: the rich fields of the Ukraine looked superbly groomed and Mr. Pearson who motored several hun- dred miies in the Crimea reported villages and hamlets more neatly cared for than many Canadian set- tlements.
