The three race series. sailed over a two and a half mile Gold Cup course started with one race in the morning which turned into a drifter when the wind failed to strengthen and Simmons placed first over Stewart with a two minute lead.

During the second race. which was started in the afternoon. Rankin dominated the sailing with an ideal sailing breeze to take a minute and 15 second lead over Simmons. and during the third race. the wind in- creased to around 15 mph and Rankin walked into a three‘ and a half minute gap at the finish line.

Placing fourth In the com- petition was Bill Simmons and fifth was Peter Williams. Three scout crews from Summersidel made up the total of eight boats entered.

Miss Harvey.-who won the Canadian junior championship in 1958. 1959 and 1960. used her 54-hole total of 215 — four under women's par——to exact revenge against Marlene Stewart Streit of Toronto.

Miss Harvey. 20. lost to Mrs. Streit by one stroke in the close competition last year. She also lost to Mrs. Streit in the Cans dian women's open. match play competition. and will at- tempt to make up for that de- feat Tuesday.
