Loxpox, Aug, 15. —A despatch from Shanghai, Aug. 13, eays that numerous reports from Pekin, dated Aug. 8, have arrived there describing the situation at the Chinese capital.

It appears that the Chinese are again desperately attacking the legations which have few defenders left.

Lonpow, Aug. 1f.—The real reason of the strained relations between Roumania and Bulgeria says a special despatch from Vienna, is the recent discovery of a plot Jaid by the Revolutionary Committee in Sofia to assassinate King Charles of Roumania, while attending the requiem for King Humbert at Buchares.

The police got wind of the plot, and warned King Charles who did not attend the service.

Two women, well known in Roumanian society, and a number of Bulgarians fave been arrested in Buchares.

Notwithstanding this the Bulgarian Government declines to interfere with the Revolutionary Committee,
