In last place going up the backstrctch the first time around ivait N'See started to move up coming into the stretch; he took over the lead. at the first turn and from there on made every post a winning one, winning by a comfortable margin as Bright Spot and O. U. Volo waged a stirring duel fbr second spot with the former getting the nod: Bon- nie's Boy was fourth and Lor- raine Abbe fifth.

Second Heat: The lead shifted rapidly after Starter Dougan sent thesis sway on the second rnlle. Before the bsckstretoi. had been reached Bright Spot. Second Heat: It was much the same story in the second heat. Dudy again led the first three- illlartcrs of the mile but went to a break and the fast coming Billy Conn again raced off to front to take the heat with Mic- key Budlong coming from far back to place second.

Third Heat: Money Music's drive to tnke the rail from Dudv Bud- lona in the third heat failed as the former went to a break and then Mickey Budlong moved up on even terms to take up the challenge but he broke to drop far back. Recovering Mickey Budlong started to come orl again but another break finished his chances and it was Billv Conn who again came fast on the last end of the mile to beat out Dudy Pudlong in another driving finish to the wire.

It has been a long while since two teams so evenly match- ed met on a local diamond and it was not surprising that a "break ultimately decided the is- sue. But for the error at sec- ond base putting the winning run on the game might have gone any number of innings as the hurlers were definitely in control all after- noon and the fans after waiting two hours for the some to set underway were prepared to wait until the~hard fought tussle had been decided one way or the other.

Laird Watt of Montreal defeat- ed Don Bauld of Halifax at the Charlottetown. Tennis Club yes- terday afternoon 1-0; 6-3; 0-0. The exhibition match between the two net stars drew one of the largest crowds ever to witness a match at the local club and rounds of applause that follow- ed the play was indicative of the brand of tennis displayed. This match was s. follow-up of Satur- day's match in Summerslde when Bauld defeated watt on a. smooth but wind-swept court in the Western Capital.

In the doubles feature of the afternoon Watt and Bsuld team- ed up to take Bill Moreslde and Lefty Reddin in two straight sets 6-2; 6-3. This match provided plenty of excitement as the two local boys battled and bowed to their experienced opponents.
