We was taken ill about a week ago, avd on medical attendance being summoned he wae found to be suffering from an acute attack of Bright’s disease, from which he died yesterday. His body was sent to P. EK. I. for interment.

The Josie Mills Dramatic Company will open a week’s engagement at the Opera Honse on Monday evening next producing the great sensational play in five acts, Master and Man. The company has played great engagements at St. Jobn and Halifax and are very highiy spoken of by the pre-s of those cities. The Halifax Chronicle eave :—

“Joxie Milla was welcomed back to Halifax last evening by an audience which taxed the capacity of the aeademy to its utmost. Indeed at 11 a. m., every seat was sold and although the “atanding room on'y,’ sign wesout tri, ht sniearly, a vast crowd assembled at the ticket office and clamored for admittance. People seemed glad to secure standing room, and hundreds fuund it impossible to get even that.

**Mies Mills is juet as charming as ever. The manner in which she took the role of Hester Thornberry, in the ever popular Master and Man, was as surprising as_ it was delightful. Mise Mills is an exceed- ingly clever actress, Her impersonatien of the role was head and shoulders above any heretofore given in this city and we have seen Master ana Man given by good com- panies and Hester Thornberry played by talented women. It is needless to say the large audience was thoroughly delighted with her work aud the manirestations of approval were well deserve.

“Miss Mills has a good support, Mr. Crimans took the role of Jack Walton with a good deal of care and gave a satis- fectory presentation. The part of Robert Charlton was well looked after by Mr. Voss aod Mr. [Thayer gave a capital imper- sonation of the very difficult character of Oumpy Legan.
