When one thinks of the men’s MVP, Raham Dixon’s name comes to mind first: sweet shooter, one of the league's top scorers, a tough defender, the offensive weapon of the team who should be All-AUAA first team this year to go along with his past successes. Sorry Dix, but no.

Then it must be Curtis Robinson. The 66 center is another of the top scorers and rebounders in the league, he can score from inside or out, guards the top big men in the league, and has had numerous big games to lead the Panthers in their quest for an AUAA title. Wrong again.

My Panther MVP for 1993-94 is a player who is often overlooked by some because of his scoring-minded teammates, but if it weren't for him, they would find scoring much harder.

Darrell Glenn: (10.4 ppg, 7.1 apg) Glenn is the catalyst for the Panthers who does it all; score, defend, rebound, and of course pass the ball, perhaps better than anyone else in the league. Glenn has a handle that can leave defenders diving for air as he blows by them on his way to the basket, and has excellent range that enables him to hit some area-code three pointers; but most importantly, Glenn plays the game with fire-- he wants to win every game more than anything else in the world. He's constantly diving for loose balls, and giving his all during every game. One of the most popular and respected Panthers ever, he’s a fine role model for his teammates, and my choice for this year’s MVP.

Congratulations to UPEI alumnus Shelley Danks, who led her rink to P.E.I.’s all- time winningest record in curling’s Scott Tournament of Hearts. Danks narrowly lost out in a tie-breaker for the play-offs.
