He, was the driver of the largest money winning trotter in America in 1913, Baden by Bingara, that was afterwards sold to the Rus- slan Oovemmcnt to: 150,000. Forty-one years have elapsed since then and it is certainly remarkable to see him still forge to the front over so many younger rivals.

Joe O'Brien was right in the limelight at the Hambletonlan races held at Goshen Good Time mile track recently in the 2.20 pace he was 2-2 with Mack Primrose 1.1 2.01 3-5, 2.00 1-6, and in the Ar- thur B. Tompkins Two Year old Memorial Trot, purse 311,800, he was second to Gslophone in 2.07 and third in 2.08 3-5. In the (Jeers Three Year Old Paco, pulse 511,- 295 he was 1-2-1 with Diamond Hal, heading Parker Byrd, that won the second heat, Cimmaron For- bes, Jug Chief and other top three- year-old pacers of the United States. The time was 2.00 2-5, 2.01 4-5, 2.00 2--5. In the third heat Diamond Hal equalled his new mark of 2.00 2-5 taken in the first heat and was easy at the end. He was second at the quarter in 29 2-5, was leading at the half in 50 2-5 and won by open lengths as Joe tried to get him home in 2.00 but failed by two-ilmu of a second. This was the richest Gcers stake and the second vic- tory for O'Brien, who won two years ago with Mighty Sun, own- ed by Mr. Camp.
