Program: Mr. Mike Butler of the Marine and Fisheries Training Centre will talk about his research on the bluefin Tuna. For the past few years he has been tagging fish in the Gulf.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

MEMBERSHIP DUES have been coming in well; several new members have joined. Let's get most of them paid in February. If mailing, please send $2 per member; make cheques payable to the Natural History Society of P.E.I., c/o Margaret Mallett, 53 Fitzroy St. Charlottetown, P.E.I. ClA 1R4.

"WINDS OF SEA AND WOOD", the Society's book, has received many favorable comments. It retails for $1.35 and is available from the Heritage Foundation, the Book Mark, and the Card Shop, Ch'town. It can be ordered PREPAID for $1.50 (postage included) from Margaret Mallett, 53 Fitzroy St., Charlottetown, P.E.I. ClA 1R4.

MAGAZINES: "Nature Canada", "Ontario Naturalist", "National Wild- life" — there are a number of these out among the members. We suggest you round them up now and place them where you will remember to bring them to the meeting.

THE ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting was held in January. Diane Griffin was elected president succeeding Eleanor Lowe. Miss Lowe had been president in 1974 and 1975, and vice-president since 1969 when the present society was organized.

Diane observed, "It will be a big pair of shoes to fill." And the members agreed heartily; but they also believe her feet will grow fast, so, no problem there. Diane is Supervisor of Interpretation with the Provincial Dept. of Parks and Conservation and has been a sessional lecturer in biology at the University of Prince Edward Island.
