Our lesson now shifts to Paul's letter-to the Roman, chapter 8; verses 26 to 38. Here his words are exceedingly rich and pro- found. In preceding verses he had been speaking of the fact that the whole creation groan- eth and travaileth in pain toge- ther, waiting, hoping, desiring to possess the Spirit. As we are saved by hope, so also does the Spirit help us in our weakness.

Paul , gives us a further glimpse into the eternal pattern in his assurance that in every- thing God works with us for good, but only to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. Everything is against the worldly man who de- liberately continues without Christ—God's character, God's law, God's holiness, God's judg- ment. But to those who love God and seek to conform to His pur- pose and pattern, everything will work harmoniously for good as the result of God's marveleus providence.
