Hand Redmen First Upset of Season in 4-2 Win.

MONTREAL. March T-Calladl- ens, the team that knocked the pro- vlnclal champion Royals out oi tile whim swim playoff. tonight pulled another big surprise when they de- feated McGill University 4-2 in the first game cf the final series for the Province of Quebec senior hockey championship. The teams play beet-two-out-of-three, the second game next Friday.

It was McGilYs first defeat of the season. They had previously won 20 games and tied three for one of the best Cpnsdian records in the history of hockey. A capacity of 10,447 paid admissions watched the Redmen, favorites to oppose the Maritime champions in Allan Cup competition, be outplayed through- out the contest.

Scores Twice

Roger Gaudette, fleet left winger. scored twice for Cansdiens while Rene Bcudreau, last year with Moncton Red Indians, and Roland Robert got the others. For McGill, Kenny Farmer and F‘l"ank Shangh- llessy, Jr, were successful marks- men. Nels Crlltchiield, the McGill centre who was injured recently, was used sparingly.
